Can it be so that Your Dazzle also is blown ?
I blow two Cameras, one Dazzle and a hard disk - by connecting the 6-pin end
of the FW-Cable 180 deg wrong. Can't do that - assymetric. Sorry it was to easy
when the connector was on my Macs back.
If You are sure that the Dazzle is OK
and that the FW-port on Your Mac also is OK
Then test Your Camera analog out to a TV to see that this works OK
Now Connect the analog end (RCA) to the in side of the Dazzle and connect
the FW between D and Your Mac.
Now start iMovie and see if it finds Your Camera.
alt go to About this Mac under the Apple up left corner of screen. Now ask for
more info and see if Your Mac identifies Your Dazzle.
If all of this works - You should be able to import into iMovie by Manually
press Play on Your Camera and select import in iMovie.
The Dazzle Can be set to PAL or NTSC. It should be same as Camera and so should
the iMovie project.
Good luck! Bengt W

It has been a while since I have used any Pinnacle software. I first bought their hardware (A-D/D-A converter) to use on Windows many years ago (at least 8 years). I seem to recall that the Dazzle line was a 'Windows only' prodcut, but I'm not positive there.
I'm not sure what Dazzle gives you that you don't have with iMovie on your Mac (other than that you can run it on Windows). You might want to go back to the Apple Store where the staff member told you to buy it and ask them how you are supposed to run it on your Mac. If they suggested that you buy it, they might have information on how to use it with your Mac.
Personally, I would consider returning it and look at using iMovie to get yourself started, and maybe look into something like Final Cut form Apple if you need 'more horsepower'..
